Rishikesh House occupies a total built surface of 640 square meters, with indoor spaces that compose a symphony of open and enclosed spaces. The dining space, for example, is a teak enclosure and the semi-outdoor central courtyard is clearly visible through the glass walls. Created by architect Rajiv Saini, the fascinating architecture of this single-storey residence evokes the sinuous lines of the Gange River below. Situated on a hillside in northern India, the asymmetric architecture of this modern masterpiece uses concrete cantilevering elements and huge floor-to-ceiling glass walls that invite the outdoors inside. The dynamism captured by each volume of the house is inspired by the energy of the nearby river. The swank focal point of the holiday house is its concrete body accentuated by the wooden deck, where owners can enjoy the beautiful panoramas. Isn’t it fascinating?
