Ideas for a living room nook are usually fun and cozy, but this sunken design by Alexander Girard takes the cake. Girard is responsible for the interior design of the Miller House - one of six National Historic Landmarks in Columbus. This sunken living room nook with seating all around is very inviting and seems like a comfortable place to relax and lounge about. The color scheme, dominated by friendly red shades contrasted against the white sofa makes the space vibrant and warm. It’s great to see how a simple idea such as colorful pillows can have such a major impact. Notice how the center rug can be changed from red to white. Another small change with a big impact.
