Open Box House by A-Cero

Located in the outskirts of Madrid, A-cero’s wonderful Open Box Houseforecasts a world of modern architecture and comfortable living. The sculptural 750 m2 house has a surprisingly artistic shape, inspired by Spanish sculptor Jorge Oteiza, renowned for being one of the main theorists on Spanish modern art. Featuring three storeys, the Open Box House dominates the surroundings with the help of architecturally significant forms. Here is a description of the Open Box House from the designers: “Open box is notable for its façade in concrete granulated in some face and brandering in other faces. The house’´s plot has is 2.600 m2. The basement takes the garage and facilities and the ground floor has the living room, kitchen and servant’s quarter. In the first floor are the private rooms (4 bedrooms) and a library. The interior design includes furniture designed by A-cero and the Italian company Fendi. The landscaping has been designed by A-cero too. It is a Japanese garden as a conclusion, an A-cero work in which you can see its looking for the quality, comfort and design excellence.”

My Dream House by A-Cero

What can I say about A-Cero other than they continue to create some of the most amazing homes I’ve ever seen...
The initial idea of this project is to integrate the house in the natural environment of the residential area in which it is. In that way, the house looks to the fantastic views of lakes and green extensions that spread over the common areas of the estate. The structure’s house is based on game of two rectangular volumes. They are solving with clean finishes, good materials and exclusive qualities. The verandas and the pergolas, elements as volumetric as the housing, give personality to the facade.

My Favorite A-Cero House Design

Spanish architects A-cero have designed a house in the “La Finca” development in Pozuelo de Alarcon (Madrid).
The structure of this new house is made of clear volumes, straight lines and simples shapes. The house’s front is made of marble travertino and there are many windows in it. Both elements give a lot of lightness to the house.
